Pierre, Founder, director and celebrant in Spain

Pierre is Love Gracefully founder. French national, he is also the leading celebrant in Spain. He is in charge to create the perfect ceremony that will meet your values and beliefs. He celebrated hundreds of wedding ceremonies through his career, each one unique in its own way. He was pioneer in creating destination weddings in Spain. Be assured that Pierre and his team will cater for your needs, no matter what it is you are seeking to arrange, and where you wish it to happen. « Even though I am french, I must say that I moved permanently to Spain! I had a great life in Paris but in 2016, I moved the entire office to Barcelona. The sun, the warmth, the sea, the tranquility that Spain offers was very attractive and don’t regret it at all. I now live in Sitges with my wife and baby girl where I enjoy a type of life that I always looked for: easy-going but business orientated, nature and city, sea and mountain, sun and warm hearted people. That’s the type of energy I am bringing in each wedding I prepare. » Pierre

FAQ about a destination wedding in Spain

Check the most common questions our couples have before they decide to marry in Spain. Feel free to contact us for further information.
No. Love Gracefully organises purely symbolic destination wedding in Spain, meaning that all our ceremonies have no legal value. For you to be legally married in Spain, you would need to prove a formal residency in Spain. Also, since that the heavy paperwork, rules and translations issues for a civil legal ceremony are very complex, costly and time-consuming, we suggest to couples to have the paperwork done at home and come to Spain to celebrate their Love in a symbolic way. Our specialty is the celebration of love, not the legal matters. However, would you really wish to have a civil legal ceremony in Europe, it’s possible. Complex but possible. We can propose you that service but only in Rome, Italy. Of course, that service is extra to our package prices. Don’t hesitate to contact us to know more about that feature.
No. Love Gracefully does not celebrate religious ceremonies but all destination weddings organised by Love Gracefully in Spain can either be spiritual or not spiritual because all ceremonies we conduct are totally personalized. They are designed to meet your beliefs. In that sense, Love Gracefully is a secular company that embraces all beliefs and all non-beliefs. All Gods are welcome and all Non-Gods are welcome too as well as anything in the middle. None of our officiants are priests nor pastors nor rabbis.

Would you absolutely want a religious ceremony in Barcelona, Sitges, Seville or Madrid, we could direct you to a local church. It’s very complex and rare as many European priests do not speak English. Our suggestion would be that, if you want a religious ceremony in Spain, to let us, at Love Gracefully, create a spiritual ceremony that includes your religious beliefs. That way, you have both sides: a spiritual destination wedding that incorporates your religious beliefs in an exquisite spanish outdoor location such in a gothic park in Barcelona, in front of the sea in Sitges, in a rose garden in Madrid or Plaza Espana in Seville.

To benefit from the exquisite locations that Spain has to offer, we mostly work outdoors. As such, we have had to learn to deal with the weather. We developed an expertise on what to do in case of rain as we spend a lot of time looking at weather forecasts. And after more than 300 ceremonies in Spain here is what we’ve learned:

  1. Since we work mainly outdoors we take that issue very seriously.
  2. Weather forecasts are not very accurate, so no need to overreact. We use them but we use our brain too.
  3. Best to wait 48 hours to 24 hours before D-day to make a final call on what to do; not need to check the weather forecast a week before.
  4. We have a plan B in Barcelona, Sitges, Seville or Madrid, protected from the rain, ready to go.
  5. If it rains a little bit we can wait for it to stop.
  6. If the weather gets extremely bad and our vendors are available, we are flexible and we can try to move the ceremony to another time in the day. Only if vendors and officiant are available.
Wear something you feel great about! You only get married once, so better focus on what you like rather than what fashion wants you to wear. Our 12 years of experience at Love Gracefully in organizing destination weddings in Spain have taught us one thing about what to wear during a marriage in Barcelona, Sitges, Seville or Madrid: wear what makes you feel comfortable! Why? At the end of the day, this is your wedding! If you come all the way to Spain to marry, it’s because you don’t want the traditional wedding at home, you want something special, something that is you! So our advice is for you to wear what makes you feel the most yourself. Of course, during your wedding ceremony, you want to look good for your honey and you want to look good on the pictures. That’s a given. But if you don’t like what you wear, you won’t look good on the inside and that will show on the outside. Trust us on that: Love Gracefully has celebrated now over 1000 weddings all over Europe and we have spotted that over and over. How many brides spent months in preparation on their outfit to finally not be comfortable walking in it on the ceremony day?

Having said all that, people in Spain are not shy about wearing colours. So, depending on the time of the year, the city you choose in Spain, your mood, one dress could work better than another one. So, don’t hesitate to contact our coordinator for Spain: Lorena can tell you what’s the trend now!

First, you don’t want to have only one pair of shoes. We recommend to have at least 2 pairs of shoes for your destination wedding in Spain. One pair for the ceremony where you will stand still, and one pair for the pictures where you’ll move around. In Spain, some streets are cobblestones so you want to have a comfortable pair of shoes to walk in when you do the photoshoot.
White is great, white is pure, white is classy, white is traditional, white is pretty but white is not a must to get married in Spain. If you don’t like white, there are a lot of other colours out there for you! In all cases, we would suggest very strongly not to buy it nor rent it in Spain. Why? rent or buy your dress at home because, there, you can take your time for choosing it which is not possible when you come to Spain just for a week. Also, at home, you can ask for support from friends or family, and it’s done in your own language. In Spain, you’ll be in a rush, maybe alone, dealing with people who speaks only Spanish… The process of choosing your elopement dress, trying it on, making the adjustments can take weeks so, please, do this at home and relax!
If you don’t take into account what kind of weather you’ll have for your destination wedding in Spain before you choose what to wear, you are making a big mistake! We have seen brides wearing very light dresses, showing their beautiful skin but freezing as it was in the middle of the winter… So, don’t hesitate to write to us and we’ll help you with that. We are not gods and won’t be able to tell you if you’ll have sun or clouds but we can tell you about the temperature!
Photos will be taken. Lots of them but do not worry too much about that. You could read on the internet that some colors don’t work for wedding photos. But at Love Gracefully we work with top Spanish professional photographers who produce awesome pictures, independently of what you wear.
It’s commonly thought that it’s easier for men than women to pick their wedding outfit. Well, yes and no. Men do care and they want to look good too! So, yes, it’s easier because you don’t have to wear only white; you have many more colors to choose from and no, it’s not easier as you want to look good but still be yourself. Some men don’t like suits and ties. Well, the good news is that you don’t have to wear a suit or a tie. You can but it’s not a must. Italy is a country of fashion and style. Men in Spain can look very good without a suit or a tie.
Spanish food is awesome. So, be ready for a real trip, trying new things, discovering new taste! Dare opening your mouth to new sensation that will make you fly!
