The morning began with quiet anticipation on the Mallorcan coast. While the groom adjusted the final details of his tuxedo, the bride sat by a stone wall backdrop as her hair was styled into a soft updo, both getting ready just steps away from the sea. Outside, guests in elegant black-tie attire made their way along the coastal path toward the venue, arriving beneath swaying palm trees with the Mediterranean stretching out behind them.
The setting for this micro-wedding was the Hotel Maricel, a historic property perched above the water in Cala Major, just outside Palma. Built from local stone with arched windows, covered arcades, and terraces that open directly onto the sea, the hotel has the quiet grandeur of an old Mallorcan estate — the kind of backdrop that needs very little additional decoration to feel like a celebration.

This celebration was part of Love Gracefully’s Infinity package, and Hotel Maricel shows exactly why it’s become one of our favorite venues for it. The private terrace overlooking the Mediterranean easily accommodated the couple’s guests for the ceremony, with white chiavari chairs arranged in a half-circle facing the sea — sailboats drifting past in the background for the entire afternoon. Beyond the ceremony space, the hotel’s covered arcades and sea-view reception terrace made it just as suited to the cocktail hour and celebration that followed.

Vows Overlooking the Sea
With the Mediterranean as a backdrop, the couple exchanged rings under the guidance of their officiant, guests seated just steps away in a half-circle facing the water. A single sailboat drifted past at the exact moment of their first kiss as newlyweds — the kind of detail no amount of planning can guarantee, but that made the ceremony feel entirely their own. Petals scattered across the terrace floor as they walked back up the aisle together, guests rising to applaud on either side.
It’s this combination — an intimate guest list, a private terrace, and an uninterrupted sea view — that makes Hotel Maricel such a natural fit for a Mallorca micro-wedding or destination wedding.

After the ceremony, the couple took a quiet moment to explore the grounds of Hotel Maricel together — walking hand in hand along the stone pathways, pausing beneath an ivy-covered walkway, and stealing a kiss in front of the hotel’s arched stone entrance as pampas grass swayed in the late afternoon light. The property’s warm limestone facades and covered arcades gave every frame a different texture, from the grand “Maricel” entrance to the quieter courtyards further back on the grounds.
Cocktail Hour and Cake Cutting at Sunset
As the sun began to set over Cala Major, guests gathered on the hotel’s terrace for cocktails, glasses of champagne poured against a backdrop of golden light and rooftop umbrellas. The celebration continued near a grand stone staircase, where the couple cut their wedding cake together — a simple white rose-covered design — before the groom fed the bride the first bite, both laughing in the last light of the day.
