Some couples dream of a big wedding. Bailey and Landon dreamed of the opposite — just the two of them, on the shores of Lake Garda. Their Riva del Garda elopement took place at Giardini di Punta Lido, a quiet lakeside garden framed by mountains and clear water, on a warm July afternoon: no guest list, no rush, nothing between them but the vows they’d written for each other.
Ever since she was little, Bailey had pictured marrying in Italy, and she’s always been drawn to the water. Giardini di Punta Lido brought both together: a lakeside garden in Riva del Garda, at the northern tip of Lake Garda, where the mountains drop straight into the lake. For a couple who love to travel and keep life relaxed, an intimate elopement here felt like the most natural choice.
An Intimate Ceremony for Two
With no guests and nowhere to be, the ceremony was entirely their own. Bailey carried a bouquet of white calla lilies and roses; Landon waited in a white tuxedo by the lakeside balustrade. Faith sits at the centre of their relationship, and they wanted it woven gently through the day — heartfelt rather than formal — alongside the personal vows they’d each written. First look, rings, a first kiss as newlyweds: unhurried, and completely theirs.
How a Texas Hurricane Brought Them Together
Bailey and Landon met in College Station, Texas, in October 2020 — both evacuating a hurricane, both ending up at the same friend’s apartment. A week of unexpected downtime turned into something neither saw coming: late nights talking, easy laughter, and the feeling of having found their person. Five years later, that twist of fate led them to Italy.
A Vintage Boat Ride on Lake Garda
Then came the part that gives this day its golden-hour glow. A lace headscarf, sunglasses, a gelato in town, and a classic wooden boat gliding out onto the lake — Prosecco in hand, the cliffs of the old Ponale road slipping past, the whole of Lake Garda to themselves. It had the feel of a vintage Italian-riviera film, and it suited them perfectly: playful, present, and completely in love.
